An award of more than 5 million Australian dollars for Fishheart Ltd.
We are proud to announce that Fishheart Ltd. has been awarded a tender to trial our fishway technology in Australia and will be entering the waters of the Lower Darling-Baaka in the coming months.
Together with the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Fishheart Ltd will play a key role in helping to restor the health of the Lower Darling-Baaka by providing a solution for fish passage at Menindee NSW.
– We are proud and excited to win the award. I am sure that we will get good results with our technology, says Mika Sohlberg, the Sales Director of Fishheart.
The trial of our technology is part of a $6.52 million commitment made by the NSW government to trial new solutions to migratory fish passage at Menindee and part of a broader $25 million restoration project for the lake and river system which has been under immense ecological pressure in the past years.
The project will be conducted over a three-year period. Using our Fishheart Fishway, we will provide passage for migratory fish at a critical point in the river system that has lead to build ups in the fish population in recent seasons.
We are looking forward to commencing work in NSW with local partners in an international collaboration which will also include scientific monitoring of our fishway.
